Alexander Zverev seeks the biggest title of his career in the Nitto ATP Finals championship against five-time winner Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic can tie Federer’s record of six season finale triumphs

Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev are underway in London with the Nitto ATP Finals title on the line.

Djokovic is trying to tie Roger Federer’s record of six titles at the year-end championships. If the Serbian triumphs in straight sets, he will be the first to do so at the Nitto ATP Finals without dropping a set since Zverev’s coach, Ivan Lendl, in 1986.

Zverev is the youngest finalist at The O2 since a 21-year-old Juan Martin del Potro in 2009. The third seed is also the first German to reach the championship match at the season finale since Boris Becker in 1996. And while he has captured three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 trophies, this would be the biggest win of his career.

Djokovic leads Zverev 2-1 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series, with two of those wins coming in a little more than a month. The Serbian defeated his 21-year-old opponent with the loss of just eight total games at the Rolex Shanghai Masters and earlier this week in Group Guga Kuerten play at The O2.
